"Model Must Haves" | Gretchen Elaine Photography Model Portfolios

The number one must have for an aspiring model’s model portfolio is a killer headshot!

Most people know headshots are so important to have in the corporate business world and it is just the same in the modeling world. Your first impression with an agency or a business looking to hire models will be your headshot. Depending on the clientele and what work you may be doing for a certain organization may lead them to choose you too. That is why having a natural headshot of what you look like is so essential.

One key part of these headshots is the neutral background and outfit of choice. Christie is wearing a white tee and is on a white backdrop. Keeping everything high key (or all white and neutral) keeps the focus on Christie’s face and features.

As you have also noticed, I had Christie have her hair down, half up, and all the way up to show what she looks like with / without her hair down. I like to have as many options as possible because you never know what businesses may be looking for.

After you have done your natural neutral headshots, you will have many other samples of your modeling which could be high fashion magazine work all the way to catalog ads for jeans. Depending on what you want to model and what jobs you get, your portfolio will build naturally as time goes on, but your headshots are classic and timeless!
