Incorporating Your Family In Maternity Sessions | Gretchen Elaine Photography Maternity

I have gotten several questions on how I incorporate the family in a maternity session. So here it is!

Even though these sessions are about Momma and the baby bump, the whole family is encouraged to get involded! This includes your furry children too!

I love to photograph closeups of mom and dad with baby bump. These images are some of the most popular especially when sharing with friends and family.

I pose them in several different ways.

  1. Mom’s back to Dad’s chest or the “prom pose” as some people call it with hands under baby bump.

2. Mom and Dad stand side by side next to each other with each hand under the baby. In this pose some couples like to make a heart with their hands over the baby bump as well.

Another great pose is for Dad to interact with baby like pictured above! These are some of the sweetest images and they are usually one of Mom’s favorites.

In this same postion, I also like to have Dad interact with the baby, whether they are kissing baby bump, smiling, or talking to baby.

Getting the whole family involved is what its all about! I will say the two photos featured here with Rocky can substitute a soon-to-be sibling as well!

I love having one-on-one with Mom and sibling/pets it really is so sweet and sometimes a bit funny how the pup will react to poses!
