"Top 5 Ways You Can Use Your Headshots" | Gretchen Elaine Photography Professional Headshots

One question I get frequently is, “What should I do with my professional headshot once I get them done?” Some business professionals didn’t they can use them for more than just a profile photo!

5) Business’s Website & Blog

The most common place to use headshots are for a business’s website and / or blog. Being able to click the about us or contact form and see the people you will be talking to and working with is so important nowadays. This is your first impression with potential clients, employees, and vendors. Having portraits of everyone on the website helps give your business a personal touch!

4) Direct Mail

This option isn’t as common for really small businesses, most businesses that use direct mail are large corporations. Nevertheless, you can create a direct mail advertising piece and put your portrait on it too! It is a wonderful idea to add that personal touch and more down to earth feel to your direct mail pieces. Direct mail can be brochures, post cards, and even business cards.

3) Social media: LinkedIn, Alignable, Facebook, Etc.

Many professionals already use social media whether it is LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Alignable, or some other media. There are so many, the list can go on and on! For many business professionals whose clients are the general public, it is great to be able to use a professional headshot on their business page so that people can see who they would be working with or purchasing items from. For Gretchen Elaine Photography’s social media, I use my logo as the profile photo, but I like to post photos of myself at work with my customers consistently to show myself and what I do!

2) Email Marketing

Email marketing is a great tool many businesses utilize, it is a great way to share information and up coming specials with potential customers. You can use your professional headshot in your email campaigns and have a little post like “a note from the editor”, recognizing an employee for an award or achievement, or as a featured employee, the possibilities are endless!

1) Online Publishing

My final way you can use your professional headshot is with online publishings. If your business gets published on a blog, a news channel, or another kind of recognition online; you can send in your headshot to have within the publishing. This is a great idea because then people can see who the expert is that was interviewed! Having more and more people see you and recognize you as an expert in your field is very important and will lead to more clients!
