Giving back to the community is something that I have been raised to do ever since I was little and especially when I was involved in the Boy Scouts of America. One very special organization that I hold near and dear to my heart is For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation or (FPS). This organization’s mission is to give families that are bearing the hardships and challenges of cancer a break. Whether their respite may be to Sea Isle City enjoying to fresh sea breeze, the Poconos relaxing and breathing the crisp mountain air, and even an amazing vacation on a cruise to Mexico. This organization has been a blessing to so many families and that includes my own.

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing this year’s 5th annual Buttoned Up BBQ that FPS has held in Stone Harbor, NJ. It was a huge party with lots of food, drinks, dancing, raffle drawings, and a special speaker who is an FPS Traveler herself. Makayla had an amazing speech that definitely touched the hearts of everyone at the BBQ. She told her story about her journey with cancer and what FPS has done for her, not only by allowing her and caregiver to travel to Mexico, but also be a part of such a wonderful community.

All in all, the Buttoned Up BBQ for 2019 was a hit! Everyone had a wonderful time dancing, connecting, and celebrating this organization. If you or someone you know would like to get involved with them and all their events and activities throughout the year, you can head on over to https://takeabreakfromcancer.org to find out more. There are lots of ways to volunteer and even donating, every dollar counts and can make a huge impact on a family.

Thank you so much FPS & Everyone involved at making this organization what it is today. You are all truly wonderful people and myself and my family are blessed to have found you all.
