"Every Location Has It's Sweet Spot"
I have noticed that many people are surprised when they find out I do not have a studio for my portrait sessions. I figured this would be the perfect time to share why.
Studios are fantastic for so many reasons. It is often a nice space to have clients come and view wall art, meet the photographer, and have the portrait session in one contained space. There is one thing that a studio is missing for me personally, a variety of real life backgrounds.
With every customized portrait session, I have found myself photographing people in front of junk yards, in bowling alleys, downtown cities, fields of flowers and tall grass, and even in their own living room. Every single one of my sessions are totally different and that is what I love about them.
Now I know what you’re thinking, ‘what if I want to be photographed on a background?’
Of course there are always exceptions! Instead of you coming to my studio to be photographed on a backdrop, I come to you with my portable background set up.
Most of my portrait sessions are in fact on location for the simple reason being that we have found really awesome locations for portraits!
Location scouting for new and unique portraits are such a fun activity that I try to do at least once a week. By doing this, I tend to come up with more ideas for upcoming sessions.
I want to know your thoughts and I am very excited to see what ideas you come up with!
Below in the comments write one place that would be super unique to have a portrait session!
